At the age of 18, I moved to England to study for a degree in science. During my scientific studies, I discovered my true calling was to be a writer. I returned to the U.S. to attend Portland State University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in writing. After taking a few years off to travel, I've enrolled at Pacific University to work toward my Master of Fine Arts in Writing. As a writer, I am enthusiastic about helping students increase their communication skills. Writing is not limited to the written word alone; it is a vital component of all communications, written and spoken. Strong writing skills help everyone convey stories and knowledge to others. I can help students with reading, creative writing, editing, literature, American and European history, psychology, and public speaking. I hold a partial IB degree, so I am also capable of helping students in a variety of IB and AP courses in art, history, writing, anthropology, and the social sciences. When I'm not helping students become effective communicators, I enjoy reading, writing, spending time with my dogs, and cycling.
